Integrated Approach to BCM System Design

Organizations implementing Business Continuity Management (BCM) system based on ISO 22301 may find it prudent to adopt an integrated approach and incorporate into the BCM System relevant concepts from other management systems that are in place in the Organization. This article highlights key considerations in integrating the relevant elements of other management system standards (such as ISO 9001, OHSAS, ISO 20000 and ISO 27001) with the BCM system. It identifies key integration challenges, benefits of integration as well as approach to integration.
