RSA Report on the Chinese Terracotta VPN Network

In case you missed it, you can access the full RSA report issued on August 3, 2015 at:

RSA describes in detail how the Chinese government has leveraged rogue VPN networks and compromised commercial enterprise servers to facilitate its cyber-espionage activities.  The rogue VPN networks were built to provide global Internet access to China's citizens who are otherwise blocked by the Great Firewall of China.  China has co-opted these networks for its own purposes with the stealth afforded by VPN connectivity.  The report lists a number of organizations (by type) that have been compromised and encompassed in the Terracotta Network.  These range from large commercial enterprises to small professional offices.

Beginning on page 15, the report describes how an enterprise can detect Terracotta activity and malware.

This is a fascinating read.  Please take a look and share your thoughts.
